Life's a Beach

We headed to Cocoa Beach today for some sun and sand. The boys took turns burying each other in the the sand and body surfing. The girls clung to an inner tube giggling and tumbled with the surf. I relaxed with my current novel in a beach chair alternating between answering cries of "Mommy, Mommy, look at me" and laughing at Robert being tossed out of the tube by crashing waves. Near the end of the day, Nathanael was stung by a jellyfish on his chest. Robert teased him about the two options for treatment: vinegar or pee. Mortified, he opted for the vinegar and we went in search of the park ranger. Poor guy, the vinegar hurt almost as much as the sting, but he gritted his teeth and allowed me to spray him down. He wore the welt as a badge of courage as the neighborhood kids all came by to see the battle scar later this afternoon. We were surprised that the kids had the energy to go outside after cleaning up from the beach, but they played for several more hours tossing the football in the front yard. Kristina came in here a few moments ago and leaned against the bed asking about something. She lost her train of thought for a moment and, surprised, I looked into her face to see her eyes heavily lidded. "You're tired!" I exclaimed. "No, I not," she returned. "Oh yes you are. I can see it in your eyes," I confirmed. Not to be outdone, she replied, "That's not tired. That's sea water, Mom"

I'm jealous :) We just had snow a couple of days ago, and 28 degrees this morning... But it was so nice to see the kids having so much fun! Poor Nathaniel - hopefully the sting doesn't hurt anymore!

By the way, how old are the kids now?

Anytime you need some warmer weather, you know where to find us! The kids are 13, 13, 12, 11, and 10. I'll have 5 teenagers at some point!

Wow, beach weather. I thought we were doing pretty good with 50 degree weather, but your day at the beach sounds wonderful.

All the kids look like they were having a fantastic time. What fun!

Hey!

thanks for visiting my blog...I am not following any diet system...we have a payment system. My husband bribes me. I weigh once a week and I get $5 for any weight loss #lbs and over and I get $10 and over 3lbs I get $20...I also get $1 per workout.

Although...since we have been home from the adoption the funding isn't as liberal so it is really just a weekly weigh in! Last time I set a 100 day challenge...just since we brought the three boys home, I have gained a crazy amount of weight!

I look forward to reading about your family and connecting with other adoptive families..I loved the You Tube Video!
