Let Me Just Cut to the Chase

I've tried to imagine how this post would read many times. But to be honest, I was unprepared to receive the email confirming that

WE HAVE A DATE!!!

I read it, re-read it, wept, scared my husband to death (because he was watching this unfold with no explanation), immediately text messaged my best friends, and then called my mom. So here's the other shocker; our appointment date is October 23rd. Yes, that's right, three weeks from today. The realization that this was really happening was immediately followed by panic. I was away from home and just happened to check my mail on my cell phone. With no computer in sight and hours before I would be back home, I felt like I was losing precious planning time. I managed to put in for airfare quotes and check on accommodations from my cell before I got home. For those of you who will be traveling to Kristina's orphanage or who know workers who minister there, please don't share this information with our girl or any of the workers at the orphanage. We want our arrival to be a surprise!

You have been so faithful to pray for us in the past. We need your prayers now more than ever. Please pray for us to find affordable travel options and as we begin to make preparations for our four children who will be staying here. Pray that God will give me a sense of peace in the whirlwind that begins today and will end with Kristina in our arms.

Take a deep breath, Scream YES, then let the fun begin!!!

Congrads!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS I had less then 48 hours from notification to leaving for Oksana's NAC appointment so three weeks would feel like months to us ha ha!

WOW!!! We are SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!!!!
Is this normal for parents who have the child pre-selected? The quick turnaround and all? If not, you certainly have Someone moving mountains for you!!!

I can hardly believe that not only do you have a date but it is so SOON!!!

I shouldn't write so much...you have things to do! Heehee

Congratulations! Congratulations!
Congratulations!!!!!!!

I had no idea you had been submitted. What great news!! Congratulations! I'm sure you're excited, overwhelmed, nervous, anxious... but what a happy little girl Kristina is going to be!

Praise God! And we had about two weeks notice before Dmitry's court date (which was four years ago yesterday, AAMOF). One family had about 10 days notice.

So three weeks is actually not too bad, all things considered. ;^)

Praying for affordable travel arrangements, etc.

Wow! This is Pastor Kristen from South Carolina who e-mailed you a few weeks back. God certainly answers prayer in powerful and sometimes shocking ways, doesn't He? I will again join the many others in prayer for you, that everything goes so very smoothly over these next few weeks, and I will eagerly check your blog for updates!

CONGRATULATIONS, Leslie and family! I'm so tickled for you all and Kristina! My husband and I are hoping to adopt from Ukraine some day; thank you for telling your story so I can pray for you and learn all I can as we wait to start our own journey to our children. Godspeed to Ukraine!

Hugs from Colorado,

I can bet that she will be surprised and your secret is safe with us. I saw her in the hall today, but didn't get a chance to snap a pic...she was bounding off towards study time about 4:45. Daily trips to the orphanage are soon in store for you. Bring that IPOD for those marshutka rides...and visiting hours are between 2&5 PM :D
