Tiny Meltdown
It was just a little one. Ironically, I was listening to a preacher on the radio this afternoon and he said, "God has never intended for us to survive by our own strength, wisdom, or provision". I thought that was a good reminder; I would need that once I was in the midst of things in Ukraine. It seems "things" caught up to me a little sooner than I expected. Trying to be in two places at one time, paying bills, just finding out a 5th grade project was due tomorrow, trying to motivate 12 year olds to study for a test, attempting to tidy up a house that refuses to stay straightened, a growing "to do" list, a dishwasher that has decided to yield up the ghost, and a flight that leaves the country in 10 days finally caught up with me. There's so much to do and the rest of my schedule doesn't seem to be lightening anytime soon. I need a Starbucks break with best friends that I haven't seen in weeks now (not their fault, totally mine). Breathe, breathe.

Leslie,
I'm sure you are quite stressed. Know that you and your family are lifted up in prayer more often than you realize and He is working on making everything fall into place. Once Kristina is home, you will be able to relax. Oh, wait, that's when the real fun begins, right?? :)
I feel for you!!! Tomorrow is a new day! The best part is in TEN DAYS you will be off to get your daughter! How exciting is that?!!! You can do it! You will have plenty of time to rest in Ukraine...Beginning on the way there-- that long plane ride, then standing in lines, shopping, hangin' with your daughter.... It'll happen and then these crazy last few days will be a blur!
Set your kitchen timer every once in a while for some scheduled "down time" 15 minutes here and there to read, pray or just stare at the wall can really help you focus.
Glad you are looking to find some time with your friends. Have fun!
I don't work on Fridays and have an empty house this weekend. Be specific with what you need, let other people help. Yes, you are super mom and I bow to your superior multi-tasking, handle it all, nothing can get stop me skills. Don’t cheat me from doing what I can. I can wash dishes, fold laundry, mop floors, do homework and get four kids out of the house for hours at a time – dinner included! That is just the obvious, and in the scope of things it is so little. Let us help.
I had a total meltdown day on Tuesday, so I can totally relate. But just remember - no matter what happens (or doesn't happen), you'll be leaving in 10 days to get Kristina! Praise God for that!
Oh, Leslie, I really understand! I've been through this too, so you are not alone! I'm sure you'll be able to finish all your tasks in no time, and then your adventure starts! Isn't it awesome?
Who's taking care of the kids when you are gone?
Oh honey! I wish I could be there to take you out for that Starbucks break. Please know I'm praying for you. For obedient children. ;) For stamina. And for peace. ((HUGS))
Leslie,
thanks for reminding all of us that we're human. I'm still waiting for our appointment date (so lots of time left) but still needed one of those "Starbucks with the girl friends" breaks today.
Keeping you in my prayers.
Kathy
Have you thought about returning stateside after the court date...we are wore out from all of the little gotchas :( Might want to consider/pray about the idea...more later.
